This homemade sweet & tangy orange sauce comes together in only 30 minutes. Toss with crispy tofu (or chicken, for copycat Panda Express Orange Chicken) for a perfect weeknight dinner.
Ingredients:

Orange sauce:

2 tbsp water

1/4 cup orange juice

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp rice vinegar

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 tsp ginger, minced

1/4 tsp chili flakes

1 tsp oil

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp cold water

Tofu:
-
1 block firm tofu, cubed

1 tbsp oil
-
2 tbsp cornstarch
-
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:

Orange sauce: In a small sauce pan on medium-low heat, sauté the garlic, ginger, and chili flakes in oil until fragrant. Add the water, orange juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Make the cornstarch slurry by combining cornstarch and cold water, and add the mixture into the sauce pan. Stir well until thickened & remove from heat immediately.

Tofu: In a medium mixing bowl, toss the cubed tofu in cornstarch and salt. In a frying pan, fry the tofu in oil until crispy and golden on all sides. Toss the hot tofu in orange sauce until thoroughly coated.
